Glossy…blue pictorial covers with a black-and-white Library of Congress photograph (Russell Lee, "Waiting for the parade to begin," Vale, Oregon, July 4, 1941) framed by red and blue horizontal stripes; light wear to covers and edges with minor bumping to corners. It was magical in the sense that I lived almost a Tom Sawyer-like life growing up in the small town of Vale, Oregon.
