It is necessary to consider the development of Turkish migration policies within the process of EU enlargement and, more generally, within the European integration process, since Turkey is currently involved in accession talks with the European Union (EU). This work sets out a number of elements which can serve for further discussion on the issue of migration into, through, and from Turkey in particular, but also on the debate regarding Turkish accession to the EU and the process of EU enlargement. As a result of the EU enlargement process, interesting changes in Turkish migration policies as well as inside the European Union itself are noticeable.
