Trinity Church at 79 Broadway, Lower Manhattan, is a historic, active parish church in the Episcopal Diocese of New York. Trinity Church is at the intersection of Wall Street and Broadway, in New York. Morgan Dix (November 1, 1827 in New York City April 29, 1908) was educated at Columbia College and the General Theological Seminary. For almost fifty-three years, he was identified with Trinity Church, New York, of which he became assistant minister in 1855 and rector in 1862. He objected to the entrance of girls into universities, because it was not "proper for young women to be exposed to the gaze of young men, many of whom were less bent upon learning than upon amusement." Arthur Wentworth Hamilton EatonM.A., D.C.L., poet, priest, educator and historian, was born at Kentville, Nova Scotia, and was for years the Professor of English Literature in a New York college where he gained a wide reputation as an educator.
