B.), Fulvio Carmagnola's Beyond the Image, After Brandi, Pietro Kobau's Cesare Brandi and the Problems of Contemporary Art, Tiziana Andina's Cesare Brandi in the World of Brillo Boxes, Pina De Luca's Cesare Brandi and the Poetic Image, and Giovanni Lombardo's Dante Eikonographos and Visible Speech. These essays examine some of the most relevant aspects of Brandi's thought, as well as their interaction and intersection with crucial issues of 20th debates on the image. They also emphasize the relevance of Brandi's work for contemporary scholarship. The Appendix presents an unpublished essay, entitled The Literary and the Figurative Text, which constitutes a remarkable example of his aesthetic approach.
