    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Early and uncommon Constable edition dated 1920 (first published in "The Sphinx" as a series of fictitious letters for wounded soldiers under the title "A Convalescent in Cairo" in 1916-17, then by The Sphinx in 1917, with Schindler editions following from 1931). Gilt-titled red cloth 17 x 24cm. viii + 115pp with many in-text b/w photos complete with 24 b/w photographic plates including frontispiece and folding indexed Plan of Mediaeval Monuments of Cairo. Covers very good, worn to extremities and partly faded to edges. Binding secure. Interiors very good, lightly tanned with some creasing. Stain towards margin from title page to p5. Endpapers foxed. Map neatly folded with earlier tape repair. Permanent Library of The Times Book Club plates (stamped "Cancelled") to pastedowns. No other marks.
