First copyright to James Whitcomb Riley -- 1…888, 1899, 1902; Copyright 1902 to the Bowen-Merrill Company, just a year before it was to become the Bobbs-Merrill Company. Pages not numbered. Previous owner's inscription on front free endpaper. Interior otherwise clean and unmarked, with bright, clean pages. Box is covered in gray paper, with red lettering and illustration on front. Corners of the box's top are split in poor condition, but is present and still houses book. A nice, illustrated copy of one of the Hoosier Poet's best-known poems.
