Green cloth with color, full pastedown on front cover, sparkling internals. Gift box has title decoration on the upper left corner of the top lid and Fisher's signature in his decorative style and 1909 date on the lower right corner. The only flaws in the presentation are that the edges of box have been repaired with cello-tape which has aged and there is a one-inch segment missing front lid left side.…

The original green gilt cloth upper cover with colour pictorial onlay, along with the spine panel, bound-in at the rear. Extensively illustrated with numerous colour and black and white plates by Harrison Fisher and with other black and white illustrations within the text. 189pp. A very good copy indeed, the binding square, firm and bright. The contents with a splash mark to the edge of one plate and the occasional minor mark elsewhere are otherwise in very good order throughout. A handsome copy of this well-illustrated edition of Longfellow's epic poem. …
