"Leggermente fuori fuoco" è il diario delle memorie di guerra di Robert Capa "con foto dell'autore", come amava che si scrivesse. Il libro mutua il titolo dalle didascalie che su Life accompagnavano le sue foto dello sbarco in Normandia, rovinate da un tecnico di laboratorio in fase di sviluppo. Preceduto da una nota del fratello Cornell Capa e dall'introduzione di Richard Whelan, biografo di Capa, il volume alterna le vicende del fotoreporter con una storia d'amore travagliata, trasformando l'autobiografia in un romanzo celeberrimo in cui il fotografo mantiene la freschezza dello sguardo, la passione, l'ironia, lo spirito d'avventura di un grande testimone del nostro tempo.
