Contact seller4-star sellerHardcover. Condition: COLLECTIBLE - NEW. Dust Jacket Condition: None (As Issued?). First Edition, First Printing. Text/BRAND NEW Copy. DJ/None (As Issued?). Posthumous work of the former Chief of the Division of Dentrology & Range Forage Investigations, Forestry Service. Range vegetation is customarily divided into four groups:…grasses, grasslike plants (sedges & rushes), forbs (range weeds), and shrubs (woody plants). Of these, orbs/weeds are by far the most numerous. Interestingly, they seldom dominate other vegetation. Instead forbs are found as admixtures with only some exceptions. The text is primarily concerned with vascular plants. The largely un-invasive characteristic of range forbs make this volume of great interest, beyond beyond the forestry service and the agriculturalist, to laymen interested in ecologically sound natural landscaping. Contents include the plants Horsetail, Clubmoss, Polypody, Lily, Iris, Orchid, Nettle, Buckwheat, Goosefoot, Amaranth, Four-o'clock, Portulaca, Pink, Buttercup, Barberry, Poppy, and Fumitory families. Fine copy.
