Hardcover. Condition: Fair-Good. No Jacket. Maurice E. Day (illustrator). First Edition. This book of poems for children contains 62 pages with six full-page color illustrations. The poems address different aspects of WWI and the various vocations possible at that time. The poems and illustrations are quite delightful. This book has been much used and abused in the past but has been restored. The pages are clean and there are no signatures, however there were several tears and scissor cuts which have been mended with paper mending tape. The pages have been resewn and several free pages have been reinserted. The cover has been reattached with paper mending tape. The hard cover has a delightful picture of a child near a village minding some ducks. It is clean on the front with some fraying around the edges and a scratch. The back has some brown stains.
