Hinges are cracked in various places of the text but still attached. There is a letter dated Aug.2, 1957 from a previous bookseller to the new owner pasted to the ffep. There are small tears on the bottom edge of the half title page and the first page of the introduction that has been mended with tape that has yellowed. Text and many b&w full page illustrations are yellowed due to age. Otherwise clean and unmarked. "Recollections of the United States Military Telegraph Corps during the Civil War". Lincoln was know to have spent many sleepless nights and days at the telegraph office waiting for information on battles. All books are individually examined and described.
