The nonprofit aimed to buy up land in the Walden Woods to prevent it from being developed, and this collection of essays was published to raise funds to purchase Bear Garden Hill. Cesar Chavez, Louise Erdrich, Carrie Fisher, Gregory Peck, and Sting are just a handful of names from the star-studded list of over sixty celebrities sharing personal stories and essays testifying to the importance of nature and environmental preservation. The Walden Woods Project is still actively involved in the preservation of Concord woodlands today. Signed.
