Quintus of Smyrna's Posthomerica is a fourth century AD continuation of Homer's Iliad. In the first edition published by Aldus in 1504, Quintus was called Calabrus because the only known manuscript of the poem had been discovered by Bessarion at Calabria in 1450. First issued in 1577, Lorenz Rhodomann's edition properly identified Quintus' city of origin. 1394625. Special Collections - Downstairs.
