Manuscript. Condition: Good. On offer is a charming archive of seven [7] handwritten letters, with four [4] envelopes, circa 1905 - 1906, written by Daniel Wright Kittredge to his friend Rachel Gaff Holmes. Research suggests that Holmes came from a family of New Orleans merchants, and she would one day become Mrs. [Joseph] Fay Ingalls in 1909. Daniel Wright Kittredge, a noted American author, from Cincinnati we believe, who wrote "Memoirs of a Failure" in 1908; "All the World Loves a Quarrel in 1911; and "A Mind Adrift" in 1920. The letters are humorous, affectionate and speak of the times they've had, she helping him pick titles for his books, his health, his "stuttering" guitar, asking her to lean on him more, many mentions of places and people they are going to visit etc. Obviously the two enjoyed a long, intimate, easy friendship. Overall VG.
