Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. ull leather with bright original labels on spine. Attractive patina, except for a heavy ink-stain on back cover. PO's small signature on inside front cover. Moderate to heavy foxing throughout, with a water-stain on inside front cover and FEP. Minor scuffs and rubs on leather, with one tiny mouse… nibble at bottom edge of back cover. A handsome copy of this very scarce volume, including a most impressive shelf appearance. Pages: 525 (all present, including end papers) PLEASE REVIEW PICTURES.

The textblocks were split and are now repaired with japanese tissue; Vol. I is lacking s…pine label; there are old repairs with leather at the top and bottom of each binding. Name label to spine for a lawyer "Frank L. Crocker' and penned note on each pastedown that the firm "Godwin & Crocker" purchased the volumes in 1868.~~The bindings are not pretty, but they are secure and holding. Good binding.
