New ed. Paperback thin trade, very good condition, black & white drawings & text-photos, top corner tips few pages lightly creased, top edge lightly foxed, minor edgewear. 59 pp. Len Fox reveals the strange story of the Eureka Flag, which was revered by some, hated and despised by others, shot at, trampled in the mud, hidden away for years in the dark, discredited by experts, but now has been accepted and honoured as one of Australia's most important historical relics. Len Fox is a retired Sydney journalist who has been interested in the flag, and done research and published material showing its authenticity. The author is joined by a Ballarat woman, Val D'Angri, who supervised the restoration of the flag and has found that she has a personal link with the sewing of the flag during the Eureka Stockade rebellion at Ballarat in 1854. (This copy: The new edition, 1992, including contribution from Val D'Angri.).
