Paperback. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. First Edition; First Printing. A Collins Novel - Volume 504. This is the novel of the Film was produced by Alexander Korda and the Royal Air Froce, with Ian Dalrymple as Associate Producer. The book has an illustration from the film on the front cover which is black/white and blue. The card covers are a little worn to the edges and to the spine. The head/tail of the spine show a little chipping and a little loss. The pages are uniformly browning - wartime paper! No Inscriptions or Marks. Overall, however, this is a Clean and Tight 'good only' copy. Quite scarce. "Directed as a propaganda film, this film contained an unlikely mix of G. P. O. Film Unit documentary footage, maudlin storytelling, and Anti-German sentiment. The story revolved around an R. A. F. Bomber Command pilot (played by Ralph Richardson) , who is called into service and undertakes a (supposedly) dangerous mission against German shipping on the Kiel canal. The film even ends with a squadron of Spitfires thwarting a Luftwaffe raid, an eerie premonition of the Battle of Britain, which was still months away!" ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
