In good condition. Red pictorial paper covers have a few 1/2" or less chips and tears and creasing along edges. light overall scuffing to covers as well with a bit of the color scuffed off along edges and spine. Binding tight (staple bound). Pages lightly aged but otherwise unmarked. NOT Ex-Library. NO remainder marks. [From Introduction to catalog] The purpose of this exhibition is to define the problems and discern the trends of French folk art. Since folk art is linked so inextricably to the life of its people, this catalog is arranged, not by region or subject, not historically or chronologically, but by artistic precedent and social organization. Many examples of French folk art find their sources of inspiration in high art models. The art has grown and developed, influenced by the life cycle of the French rural people.
