Pale green cloth boards show fading to the color as well as some scuffing and soiling. The worst stain being at the top of the spine, just the left of the title. The edges and corners also show bumps/light wear. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues and even the tissue guard is still present. There are no signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting, nothing torn or loose. Pages are toned and foxing is present throughout as well as soiling and smudge marks, particularly to the end pages and pastedowns.

Frontispiece in colors, 63 pages, some foxing. A story from the Victorian age about wheelchair-bound Charlie, the son of a medical doctor, and his mate Willie the gardener boy. At the close of the story Willie helps Charlie put his faith in Jesus Christ, and to ask for a new heart.Catherine Douglas Bell (1818-1861), b. & d. at Edinburgh, Scotland. She was never married and devoted herself to writing Christian story books for children, writing about forty of them during her productive years.
