    25x19cm. First edition, dated from Acknowledgements. pp24 including Foreword dated 1950, followed by 250 captioned colour plates and ppVI of indexes. Original green cloth, backstrip titled in gilt. Head and foot of backstrip slightly rubbed, corner shared by foot of backstrip and front cover slightly bumped, outer corners of rear cover slightly curled. Top edge of text-block lightly speckled. VERY GOOD copy in FAIR price-clipped dust jacket rubbed, chipped, lightly & sparsely spotted, and with tear of length 11.5cm from foot along fold between front panel and flap.
