No Binding. Condition: Very Good. Colour map printed on paper 74x58cm, labelled in the Cyrillic alphabet, compiled 1963, and published 1964. Very good, folded, lightly creased. This beautifully drawn image centres on Mount Kilimanjaro. Three key diagrams locate the sheet, demarcate administrative divisions, and show vegetation c…over. These were issued as part of the major global mapping programme by the Military Topographic Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR, during 1950-90. Maps comply with International Map of the World standards, with each quadrangle on a 1:1,000,000 scale identified by lettered bands and numbered zones, the 1:500,000 series sub-dividing each quadrangle into 4. Sources are not named, but for the wider series included a mix of existing maps and guidebooks, the Zenit Satellite Programme (from the 1960s), and "boots on the ground".
