From the Library of Jerrold Northrop Moore, light browning and spotting, 'J.E. from D.M.E. 25.xii.36' in neat pen to rear f.e.ps., remains of label to rear pastedown, upper hinge cracked though firm, original gilt lettered black cloth, remains of Boots Lib. label to upper board, some light discolouring, spine rubbed with loss to gilt. Commander Charles Herbert Lightoller DSC & Bar RD RNR (18741952), British mariner and naval officer who was the second officer on board the ocean liner RMS Titanic during its ill-fated maiden voyage, and was the most senior crewmember to survive the disaster.     Condition: Good. 1935. First Edition. 344 pages. No dust jacket. Black cloth with gilt lettering. B&W frontispiece. Front endpaper missing. Notable foxing and tanning to endpapers and page edges. Previous owner's name to front paste down, with old price written on half title page. Some gutter cracking but the binding remains firn. Moderate wear and bumping to spine, board edges and corners, with small splits (approx. 1-2cm) to spine ends and at corners. Notable sunning to spine and board edges, with visible marks, small water stains and soiling all over boards. Book has a slight forward lean.
