Pamphlet. This is not a book. The schedule of dances for the Ballet Russe at the 51st Street Theatre, NYC, December 12, 1940 - January 8, 1941. The Ballet Russe performed for 15 weeks on Broadway between November 3, 1940 and January 12, 1941, following their fabled 1939-1940 Australia tour and before their 1941 Havana tour. This program, from the New York tour, featured such dances as Michel Fokine's Les Sylphides, Le Coq d'Or, Paganini, Prince Igor, Carnaval, Petrushka, Sheherazade, and Le Spectre de la Rose as well as David Lichine's Graduation Ball, which premiered during this Broadway run. Staple-bound, self-wrappers; 8 pages; b&w illustrations and photos; 4 x 5.5 inches. Condition: Very Good pamphlet with light soiling and light rubbing to the corners. Will be sandwiched securely between stiff layers of cardboard and shipped the next business day.

Contains full-page portraits of Colonel W. de Basil, Leon Woizikowsky, Valentina Blinova, Helena Kirsova, George Gee, Valerie Hay, Donald Burr. (Estimated date, 1936 or 1937. Condition: Good. First edition (hardback). 12mo (19cm by 13cm), 286pp. Portrait frontispiece of the author. Original black cloth, dustwrapper. Light bumping to the corners of the boards, light spotting of the preliminary pages; overall, the book is in good to very good condition. The dustwrapper is in good to very good condition (some chafing of the edges). The dustwrapper has now been put in a mylar cover to protect it.
