He begins by thanking him for sending a cutting 'from t…he "Gossip of the Clubs" ', before continuing: 'In consequence of the opposition there is still against me in the Brick & tile trade, the amount of time & Correspondence [it takes?] is [?] with the [?] of the act, I find it anything but [?] to get along. It takes me all my time to keep my head above water, but I am happy that all will be right bye & bye.'.
