Trade Paperback. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Joseph Clement Coll (illustrator). Reprint. Reprint of 1917 dystopian novel, thought by introducer Lester Del Rey to be the direct precursor of 1984 and BRAVE NEW WORLD. The Coll illustrations are not as crisp as one could like (they must have looked marvelous at full size!). This copy has the previous owner's penciled initials on the front free endpaper, and would be a solid Fine copy if it hadn't been splattered with what looks like coffee -- there are also two small rubbed patches on the front cover. It shows no real signs of having been read -- the binding is close to "as new".
