Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. CreateSpace, Scotts Valley, CA. 2017. Softcover/Trade Wraps. Edition/Printing not stated. Signed by the author on the title page dated 7/10/17. Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a phone number on the FFFP. Book Condition: Very Good +; curling of front…wrap. No DJ. Pictorial card stock wraps. Wraps are not bent or folded; spine is not creased or split; text is secure in binding. 607 pp 8vo. This book is the story of one man's journey, Jordan Cohn, from his birth on February 14, 1948 to a heroin addict mother in an old rundown hospital in Queens, New York. His journey takes him from the Iron Triangle of Willet Point in Queens to Vietnam, on to the Lakota Pine Ridge Reservation, and to the high desert of Arizona. His life is touched by many people and the manner in which he lives impacts the lives and hearts of others. This is a book about change. It iis in no way meant to be a chronology of the Vietnam War or the experiences of the people that served there. It is a story of one young man and what he went through to develop an understanding of himself and how he finds his way back past the Shadow Guards that guarded his pain. A clean very presentable copy. Signed by Author(s).

Of particular note, according to the author, is Beijing's increased attention to guarding its vital sea lanes because of the nation's growing dependence on maritime trade, especially energy supplies. He provides a thorough description of China's naval establishment, including its personnel system, followed by a detailed view of its ships, submarines, and aircraft, all marked by technical sophistication and capability as China reaches the top rank of the world's maritime powers. His evaluation is based on extensive interviews with Chinese and other naval experts, in-depth perusal of original documents, and visits to Chinese warships, training facilities, and shore establishments. The Great Wall at Sea is on the U.S. Navy's Professional Reading List.". INSCRIBED / SIGNED by the AUTHOR. Second Edition, Updated. Hardcover. Near Fine condition/Near Fine dust jacket. From the dust jacket: "With the 100th anniversary of his birth on September 7, 2015 Dick Cole has long stood in the powerful spotlight of fame that has followed him since his B-25 was launched from a Navy carrier and flown toward Japan just four months after the attack on Pearl Harbor. In recognition the tremendous boost Doolittle's Raid gave American morale, members of The Tokyo Doolittle Raiders were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in May 2014. Doolittle's Raid was only the opening act of Cole's flying career during the war. When that mission was complete and all of the 16 aircraft had crash-landed in China, many of the survivors were assigned to combat units in Europe. Cole remained in India after their rescue and was assigned to Ferrying Command, flying the Hump of the Himalayas for a year in the world's worst weather, with inadequate aircraft, few aids to navigation, and inaccurate maps. More than 600 aircraft with their crews were lost during this monumental effort to keep China in the war, but Cole survived and rotated home in 1943. He was home just a few months when he was recruited for the First Air Commandos and he returned to India to participate in Project 9, the aerial invasion of Burma.".
