Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dustjacket. Jacob Bates abbott (illustrator). This is a terrific story of an undersized cocker spaniel named Rusty. Although he had an unknown pedigree, he was brave, loyal and very intelligent. Meek said that he was based on a real dog that he knew. This is a 1950's Groseet & Dunlap reprint of a 1938 Knopf publication. It is in good condition; the binding is tight and square. The illustrated cover indicates that this volume is one of the Famous Dog Stories series. It was never a library book.

DJ has some chips and shelfwear - protected from further damage in clean Brodart jacket. 302 pages includes appendix. Story of a military man and a Frog, an outlaw horse who can be ridden only by force, meets his match in Lt. Scott who eventually wins the horse with kindness. Author had a background of 16 years in US Army and gives a faithful depiction of a peacetime army in the Panama Canal Zone. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Slight wear to the edges. The price-clipped jacket has short tears and small chips to its edges. Slight signs of sticker removal from the back portion of the jacket. The back of the jacket also has a little staining in a one inch by two inch area.
