Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book reassesses John Bunyan as a writer and literary figure, offering a nuanced examination of his artistry and impact on English literature. Unlike his contemporaries, the author argues Bunyan was uninfluenced by fashion and conceits of his day, resulting in his famous allegory, The Pilgrim's Progress, attaining an unconscious ease and charm that has resonated with readers throughout history. The author explores Bunyan's seamless integration of biblical phraseology, sharp wit, and vivid imagery, which, combined with his keen depth of characterization, cemented his place as a timeless literary figure whose work has influenced generations of writers and readers alike. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
