The coverillustration by `Barbelle' echoes the originalKemble drawings of Huck, but makes him lookignorant, a quality that Twain objected to inKemble's earliest drawings. The genesis of thissheet music is obscure; it does not seem to beconnected with any film version of HUCK FINN. Infact, the first film version of HUCK FINN was notuntil 1919 (preceded by 1909 films of PRINCE ANDTHE PAUPER and DEATH DISK, 1912 and 1917 films ofTOM SAWYERs, and a 1916 PUDD'NHEAD WILSON). Not inBAL, Tenney, etc.

Some marginal tears and creases, some light browning, but a very good copy with a light stamp of an Elmira store in the lower front cover Front of wrapper with full page illustration of Huck Finn by Barbelle. 1 vols. 10 1/2 x 13 5/8 inches.
