Soft cover. Condition: Fine. 2nd Edition. BOOK DESCRIPTION: 4to, 76 pgs, illustrated. Facsimile reprint of original War Office publication by R. E. Baldwin, International Blood Chit Museum. Presentation from Baldwin with additional notes. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Fine in original paper covers. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The original of this has an interesting story. Produced in a small number for visiting dignitaries from MIS-X, the US Defense organization responsible for POW support and evasion aids. The original publication was a hand-made catalog of escape and evasion objects, created by Clayton Hutton and produced by MI9 and covertly shipped to the British POWs in Germany. The intent was to bring the US into the program and help develop the US effort by MIS-X; which in fact they did. The original was in full morocco leather and had authentic examples of maps, stationary, etc. In 2003 an original copy was auctioned by Bonham's for $7200. This reprint includes post-it notes by R. E. Baldwin, the noted escape and evasion scholar, on how the original appears and what authentic objects it included. Even in this reprint edition, a rare piece of US escape and evasion history. Presentation from Baldwin on front free endpaper.
