Publisher's russet cloth with gold spine and upper board lettering and a rifle and flag vignette gilt, quarto, pp. vi, [8], 1-333. Black and white illustrations. Note that the folded leaf bearing pp. 129-132 has come loose from the binding and is simply laid in at the proper place. Mild shelf rubs to the cloth at spine ends and board tips. Old small bookstore ticket at bottom of front endpaper. GOOD condition, withal. FAIR-only dust jacket has chipping at spine ends and flap fold points. Loss of a small amount of paper from front panel upper edge and a smattering of small holes on rear panel at lower edge near spine. Old piece of tape at crown of spine for a long-ago mend to the paper there. Jacket protected now from further wear by a new sheet of removable Brodart.
