Presentation copy of American Industrialist, G. Albert Lyon, as stamped on front pastedown, With Best Wishes, G. Albert Lyon. Lyon, the father of the modern American car bumper was a Detroit based inventor and Chairman of Lyon, Inc which also developed stainless steel tire covers for spare tires, in addition to producing plastic and metal white walls, stainless wheel-trim rings, and metal wheel covers (and bumpers.) The mere fact that Lyon was gifting Chrysler's autobiography should attest to its content, as both men were Detroit based, automobile titans in their own right, throughout the early 20th century. As for the book, it is tight and clean. Binding and hinges are strong and sound. Pages and endpapers are bright and clean. Exterior tips show minor shelf-rubbing. Original DJ with price torn from inner upper flap. A couple of minor, shallow chips and rubs along edges. Small closed wrinkle-tear on rear upper edge. A most attractive, tight and clean copy with vintage American Automobile Industry significance. VG+.…
