An abridgement of Institutes of the Christian Religion, a seminal work of systematic theology regarded as one of the most influential works of Protestant theology, first published in Latin in 1536. The work is considered a core reference for the system of doctrine adopted by the Reformed churches. Written by John Calvin, a French theologian, pastor and reformer during the Protestant Reformation. He was a principal figure in the development of the system of Christian theology later called Calvinism. With answers to the objections of adversaries set down by William Lawne, a British theologian. Translated out of the Latin into English by Christopher Fetherston, an English translator. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Light loss to the spine label with the odd small split in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
