Not to be confused with the later paperback edition published in Europe, this true first edition was published in Beijing just 8 months before Weiwei was arrested at Beijing airport for "economic crimes". He was detained for 81 days without charge and eventually moved abroad to Europe when allowed to leave China in 2015.
