Condition: Good-VG for age and genre. 1932: green card with black spine lettering, minimally worn and unmarked bar 3 small black spots to front. xv + 296 + 36 plates on 18 leaves + 297-33 + plates 37-75on facing pages following a t.p.; numerous other text ills prior to first plates section inc an f/piece to p. xiv.,…marginal pencil numbers (erasable) to museum catalogue list, bottom outer corners have small open creases towardsends of text-block, gutter thinly opening after t.p. 1935: grey card cover, clean bar a few darker spots( to front but top black-lettered spine has 2 cm chip above 4 cm repaired tear: 7 unpaginated prelims inc. 2 full page photos of library and reading room + 138, frequent small ills of catalogue entries; internally tight and clean bar 2 brown spots inside front cover. Museum plates show huge variety of spectacles and lorgnettes as well as false eyes and eye-testing equipment. The 1932 volume also issued as hardback, this seems scarcer and hardback copies mostly listed abroad. 17.5 cm x 24 cm.
