Il se consacre à la poésie, à lessai (philosophique, théologique et historique), à la nouvelle, au théâtre et collabore aux journaux La tribune de Lausanne et Le Matin. Sa carrière littéraire a été couronnée par de nombreux prix : il a notamment reçu quatre fois la médaille dor de lAcadémie internationale de Lutèce. Retiré depuis 2002 à la Maison du Saint-Bernard à Martigny, le chanoine Gabriel Pont est décédé 16 février 2016.
