A compilation of articles on Florida from 'Forest & Stream' magazine, at a time when "So l…ittle is known of the Florida Peninsula.". A sportsman's guide, with chapters on travel, hunting game animals and birds, but primarily fishing for black bass and salt water game fish. "The tarpum I have not seen. It also is rare.it is rarely taken with hook and line, as it generally carries away the tackle.". The authors include "Al Fresco", Charles Hallock, Fred Beverly, H.W. Merrill, Aug. K. Egbert, S.C. Clarke and Geo. A. Boardman. With a chipped spine, otherwise very good.

Illustrated with a b&w single page map and a b&w foldout map of Lake Okeechobee. 5.25" x 7.5". Brown blind stamped cloth, worn on edges, inner front hinge cracked but sound, interesting…old red ink owner name stamp featuring Chinese characters and a running duck on the front endpaper, early ink owner name on the endpaper, mark of a former bookplate on the front pastedown. 348 pp + 12 pp of advertisements. Worn but good.

Spine: gilt titles on label; head & foot with thin wear & chips, some cracking and sealed splits. Light wear to extremeties. Gilt head edge mildly rubbed. Old… foxing to edges. Four brown ribbon ties exiting from covers fore-edges. Colour trout on frontis; 16 tipped in plates, some in colour all clean & intact; plenty of b/w illustration drawings. Light sprinkle of faint foxing to eps and the odd page with few only foxing. Gutttering between last page & rfep with vertical thin old residue. Binding is VG. 184p.

Weekly journal of "practical natural history, fish culture, protection of game, preservation of forests." Each volume contains a complete run for the months listed. Volumes 11 and 12 have had recent repairs as follows. Volum…e 11: Re-built original spine, full leather. Corner repair, repaired index pages, Interior cloth hinges front and back, retaining original end pages and paste downs. All original. Sealed and waxed. Volume 12: Corner repair on all four corners. Interior hinge front only. Sealed and waxed -- again, kept all original. Volumes 10, 13 and 14 have had recent repairs as follows: new interior hinges, front and back page repairs -- larger tears in particular, as well as smaller repairs to indexes in front and initial pages, corner leather repair, new labels with some gilt added to spines, covers and spine sealed and waxed. Additionally, Volume 10 has a new leather spine with black title band and gilt titles. Volumes 13 and 14 have rebuilt leather spines. In all volumes, the interior pages are clean with toning near the edges. These are newsprint, so there are some tiny tears along the edges from years of handling, but nothing running into the text block. Dust-staining on top edges of page block. Name on endpaper of both volumes. Some off-setting on endpapers. We will send photos upon request.
