"Ben Franklin, Myself, the Jews", a Neighbor Guild Broadcast/WJJD Radio, Chicago, 19 March 1939, 10"x 8.5", 10 pp printed front and back. Also comes with a 4pp promotional for Smith's radio lecture series. Offset printed from typed originals, staple-bound. Original wrappers, with text printed on one side only. Provenance: gift from the Guild to the U.S. State Department, then the Library of Congress, with their stamps. GOOD+ condition. RARE: WorldCat locates NO copies. [++] This is a transcript of a radio broadcast by Dr. Charles Copeland Smith on 19 March 1939, exposing the forgery and falsity of the (then) five-year-old anti-Semitic fraud of Ben Franklin hating the Jews. The "Franklin Forgery" (also known as the "Franklin Prophesy") may have found its origin with local fascist William Dudley Pelley of the infamous Silver Legion, printing up his reports on his press in Asheville (NC) passing along what was supposed to be a contemporary warning by Franklin against the Jews. It was all false, of course, though there are still remnants of people who need to believe these lies. The address by Smith decimates the claims made against Franklin. [++] The radio station (WJJD) originated in 1924 with about 5,000 watts, moving to Chicago in 1927 with 20k watts, so there was ample possibility for the broadcasts to reach an audience of hundreds of thousands of people. …

"Some Letters from Germany", a Neighbor Guild Broadcast/WJJD radio, Chicago, 12 November 1939, 10"x 8.5", offset printed from typed originals, staple-bound. Original wrappers. Text printed on one side only. RARE: WorldCat locates NO copies. Provenance: gift from the Guild to the U.S. State Department, then the Library of Congress, with their stamps. GOOD+ condition. This is a transcript of a radio broadcast by Dr. Charles Copeland Smith on 12 November, 1939, for the most part dealing with the situation of the Jews in Germany at the very beginning of WWII. [++] The radio station (WJJD) originated in 1924 with about 5,000 watts, moving to Chicago in 1927 with 20k watts, so there was ample possibility for the broadcasts to reach an audience of hundreds of thousands of people. [++] Most of the effort here is directed to the situation of the Jews in Germany where is a statement about the "wealthy Jews in Belgium" being "bad off" for having paid so much to the Jewish welfare relief associated with the Committee for Refugees. It is noted that Jews in Germany were receiving $2.07 from the committee for an entire week, inclusive of all expenses. [++] There is a statement refuting the bad treatment receive by Jews in Belgium, this established to be Nazi propaganda trying to show that no one in Europe wanted the Jews. [++] There is a mention of a speech by Goebbels detailing "confetti raids" in which Jewish-controlled British bombers dropped propaganda leaflets on the German army. [++] For those interested, the entire pamphlet is reproduced here. …

Contact seller4-star sellerSoft cover. Condition: Good. "Interview with Two German Refugees. A Neighborhood Guild Broadcast from WJJD 1130 kilocycles, Sunday February 26, 1939, conducted by Charles Copeland Smith." Chicago, Illinois. 11 x 8.5 , cover+6 leaves of printed interview. Provenance: U.S. Department of State. GOOD condition. __+__ This is a radio interview conducted by Charles Copeland Smith in 1939 of two German refugees (Mrs. King and a Miss Greta King ) shortly before the fighting war begins later in the year.__+__ Four rubber stamps on the cover (see image); last leaf detached from the stapled binding.__+__ "Why did the Kings leave Germany? Because they were Jews. The husband, Dr. King, lost his practice and privilege on April 1933. They outlined what was happening to Jews in general in Germany the stormtroopers, the loss of life, imprisonment. By 1935 determined to leave, the end was in sight for the Jews."__+__ The April 1 1933 law that is mentioned in this interview refers to The Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service, the first official banishment of the Jewish people as menials, second-class citizens, banning the Jews from government jobs. The Jews had already been established by the Nazis as being the cause for the loss of WWI, the debacle at Versailles, the ruination of German culture and mortal enemy of the Aryan German. Many hundreds of laws like this would be instituted over the coming few years, establishing the legality of the supposed inferior nature of the Jewish people. (Also in July 1933 came the underpinning legislation of some future nasty thinking, Ernst Rudin s Law for the Prevention of Hereditarily Diseased Offspring , which established health courts and compulsory abortion and sterilization for a variety of physical and hereditary traits found to be unacceptable for the promulgation of a superior German race.) And this is all before the Nuremberg Laws of 1935/1936, (specifically the "Reich Citizenship Law", 1936) which basically established the fate of the Jews, removing their citizenship and making them subjects of the state. Do I really need reiterate the case for the Nazi subjugation of the Jews, and their making the social and legal basis for the coming extermination policies which were codified at Wansee in 1942? I think not though it seems to me that for whatever reason the Smiths decided to not utilize this already well established (even by 1939) information.…
