Original vintage advertising poster for the express air delivery service by Air Bleu poste aerienne rapide. Fantastic Art Deco design by the French artist Roger Chapelet (1903-1995) featuring a plane flying at speed over a route map of France with air mail letters marked Par Avion below the stylised title text diagonally across…the image set against a blue background. The French airline company Air Bleu offered daily airmail services in France from 1935-1940; due to financial issues and military duties, ownership of the fleet was transferred to Air France and the company was dissolved in 1940. Very good condition, minor tears and staining on margins, backed on linen. Size: 100x62.5cm. Roger Chapelet (illustrator).
