A mystery/detective style novel set in late 19th century France and involving the discovery of a corpse. POOR/FAIR condition, LACKING the front and rear wrap. Most of the wrap present along the spine, with some loss at the head and tail. Heavy browning to the paper, with some soiling to the first and last page. Minor chipping and tearing to the extremities of the first and last pages. Text block solid.…

Binding is cracking in places, though holding together well. Previous owner's ex-libris at front pastedown. Some wormholes through gutter at front endpapers.
