Ilustrado em extratexto com duas gravuras. A primeira representa a ordem que seguiu a procissão do triunfo que saiu da nova igreja e a segunda representa Cristo crucificado e foi desenhada por Francisco Mendes Lima e gravada a buril por Rousseau, 1736. Folha de rosto a preto e vermelho, com um florão decorativo representando um anjo, cabeções decorativos com o trigrama sagrado, com as armas de Portugal e com figuras e folhagens e duas belas iniciais decoradas, nas folhas preliminares e no início de cada sermão, na segunda paginação. Exemplar com defeitos no pé da gravura de Cristo, que afecta a assinatura do desenhador. Obra rara quando tem a gravura de Cristo Crucificado, pois ela falta em quase todos os exemplares. Obra muito importante para a história local do lugar de Bouças e da cidade de Matosinhos, para a história da arte, para o estudo das romarias do Norte de Portugal e para o estudo das imagens de Cristo em Portugal. A imagem do Cristo das Bouças que depois da transferência para a nova Igreja se passou a designar por Cristo de Matosinhos é provavelmente a mais antiga existente em Portugal datando do século XII. A lenda associada à imagem atribui-lhe uma origem ainda mais antiga. Teria sido feita por Nicodemus depois da morte de Cristo na Cruz. A lenda refere ainda que a imagem deu à costa sem um braço. Décadas depois uma mulher recolheu madeiras junto da praia para usar como lenha, mas ao atirar um dos paus para o fogo este saltava imediatamente para fora e foi a filha, que era muda e falou pela primeira vez, que disse à mãe que aquele era o braço que faltava na imagem de Cristo. A Capela-mor onde a imagem, foi colocada, nesta data de 1733, é uma magnífica obra de talha dourada que cobre com um maravilhoso trabalho artístico todas as paredes e que é ainda hoje alvo de grandes peregrinações e festas muito concorridas. A segunda paginação contém três sermões em louvor do Cristo das Bouças: 1 - P. Manuel dos Reis Bernardes - Sermam Euangelico, panegyrico, historico, e apologetico, que em quatro de Mayo de 1733, primeiro dia do Triduo, consagrado à sacrosanta imagem do Senhor de Matozinhos na sua trasladaçam solemne para a Capella Mòr do seu grande Templo. prégou o M.
