First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Eight volume set, including 384 hand colored botanical engravings and lithographs, 11 folding. Hardcovers, bound in early calf over marbled boards. The bindings rubbed with minor loss at the headcaps and fore-corners. Foxing to the text and tissue overlays, affecting the plates occasionally in the margins. This is the first horticultural journal to have illustrations of fruits and flowers drawn from nature included with the text.
