Frontispiece, engraved title, xi, 485, (vi) pages. Complete. Boards and spine are damaged and spine is separated from front board,… endpapers and edges are marbled, edges dulled. Binding is complete and good, one page section is slightly loosened. No Foxing, frontispiece is grubby. Anne Claude de Tubières-Grimoard de Pestels de Lévis, Comte de Caylus, Marquis d'Esternay, Baron de Bransac (Anne Claude Philippe 1692 1765), was a French antiquarian, proto-archaeologist and man of letters. Thomas-Simon Gueulette (1683-1766) was a French playwright and writer of tales.
