In 287 pages, + 36 pages cataloging other books from this publisher in rear, offering a fascinating look at American history in the decade before the Civil War. Small hardcover book has faded red publisher's cloth over boards, which is torn on the back cover & to spine; evidence of regluing, but still gaps at joints. Condition is Poor: ffep is torn out; all other pages intact. Generally clean with heavy foxing & tanning, random soiled spots. Binding holding strong, but both hinges are cracked. Light pencil marks on a couple of pages in rear. No DJ, as issued.
