Rue Carpenter (illustrator). 3rd Printing. 10.75 x 14 inches (27 x 36 cm) Rose patterned cloth with white cloth spine, pastedown title label, some darkening and soil to covers, corners worn and frayed, occasional dust soil inside with tiny chips from last three pages not affecting text or images. A book of songs intended for little boys by composer John Alden Carpenter, best known for being one of the first classical composers to incorporate jazz into his compositions. Illustrated by his wife, Luritia "Rue" Winterbotham Carpenter. The musical notation and illustration layout is reminiscent of the song books of M B de Monvel. Size: Oblong Folio.
