EL POZO es la historia de una "maratón" de cuatro días, descripta con escrupulosa veracidad, aunque los hechos resultan casi increíbles. Aquí se da cuenta de lo que ocurrió en un grupo de ejecutivos insospechables, que se encontraron prácticamente prisioneros en un motel de Palo Alto y fueron insultados, golpeados, encerrados por turno en un ataúd, obligados a realizar actos sexuales anómalos y, en varios casos, crucificados. todo ello con el pretexto de que por tales medios se desarrollaba su sensibilidad y se los preparaba para convertirse en líderes y vendedores mucho más eficaces. En realidad, se los llevó al borde de la catástrofe psicológica, a fin de hacer emerger y consolidar en ellos las tendencias más negativas, violentas y destructoras. Para dar una idea acabada del absurdo de este cuadro, es preciso señalar que los asistentes a estas sesiones pagaban de su bolsillo mil dólares por cabeza, y lo hacían porque se les planteaba como condición para poder progresar en una empresa distribuidora de cosméticos.
