Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Dust Jacket. Early imprint with no date or publisher noted, c. 1893. Tightly bound in rust cloth with African imagery and titles in black. A few spots, light smudging and spine slant, remains Very Good. Bound into contents are nine illustrations of Matabele culture, a map of South Africa and e…xamples of Sinteble language. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. The Mercantile Library stamp and a number are on some of the internal pages, a small paper label in on the front cover and their bookplates are overlapped on the front pastedown. There are no other indications of the library's ownership.
