Fueron estos los pilares de la lucha de quien tuvo que ver su primer libro, Une voix de femme dans la mêlée (1916), de próxima publicación en ContraEscritura, cercenado por una censura que no se levantaría hasta veinte años después. . Ello no detuvo su trabajo como articulista, oradora y novelista. El año 1930 con Pasaron unos hombres, ganó el premio Séverine y se tradujo a diez idiomas. A España esta novela llegaría en 1932 de la mano de Margarita Nelken, de quien hemos conservado la traducción. LIBRO.
