CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Cover cloth is worn on edges, spine ends rubbed and worn. Numbers on spine. Internal pages are brown and a bit fragile, front hinge weak. Pencilled name of former owner on front free endpaper. With clear mylar wrapper. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The Regiment, organized in 1861, was at the Battle of Front Royal in 1862 and fought throughout the Shenandoah Valley including Battle of Winchester, Battle of Mine Run, Wilderness, Spotsylvania CH, North Anna, Cold Harbor, Petersburg and Appomattox. It is recognized as one of the F0X 300 Fighting Regiments. REFERENCE: Dornbusch II, 489; Nevins I, p.67, "Obviously based on a diary, but inferior to such companion volumes as that by Goldborough."
