Minor soiling to the binding, and a bit of smudging to the last letter "D" in the title (apparently at the time of printing). Bright and clean internally. Cloth. The last page in this edition includes a teachers note. This is "a story about Indian children with the authentic background of primitive Indian life among the Hackensack band of the Lenni Lenape or Delaware tribe, who lived along the Passaic River in northern New Jersey before the White-Face came in the boat-with-swings." Binding reinforced as normal with school editions, and with different binding than the original edition. Per Zempel and Verkler, a later printing with no date on the title page. A tight clean copy of a scarce children's title.
